About Ray

Renée “Ray” Drezner is a Philadelphia-based vocalist, scholar, and teacher. After studying International Development and Music Theory at McGill University in Montréal, they returned home to Philadelphia to earn their Master’s in Classical Vocal Performance from Temple University. Ray’s research focuses on musicology, queer theory, and gender with their latest work on the Camp Performances of Dusty Springfield and Dolly Parton. At home in many genres, Ray loves opera arias as much as the bluegrass tunes they perform with bluegrass band, The Cheddar Boys.
