Anaïs Naharro-Murphy, Artistic Director of ENA Ensemble says…

“Renee is a dream performer and collaborator- dedicated, witty, charming, incredibly hard-working, competent and articulate in so many areas, consistent, passionate, thoughtful, provocative. She not only delivers but nails it- from Brahms to Bluegrass- she's got it all!”

Renée is an incredible teacher who helps cultivate the technique that can support and grow a healthy, beautiful vocal practice! She is inspiring to work with and has given me a lot of tools which I use regularly in my speaking, recording, and live performances all around the globe. I especially appreciate her care for her students, and her passion for helping people take it to the next level!

“Renee has truly helped me grow as an artist in countless ways. She has helped to re-ignite my confidence as a vocalist again and every lesson she surprises me. I walk out of our time together each week taking multiple new things home with me and feeling that I have grown more as an musician since I walked in the door an hour earlier.

Renee is a natural when it comes to mentoring her students. She really, really listens to them, invests in expanding their potential, is incredibly patient (especially in helping me dig all of that music theory knowledge back up!!) and tailors each moment of their lesson to what they need. Her passion and excitement for her craft is absolutely contagious, and she is an all-around wonderful person.”

My favorite thing about collaborating with Renée is their eagerness to stretch and grow. We’ve created some quirky projects together, and I have always been able to count on Renée to try my wild ideas and to also remind me to focus on narrative and story. Their command of their voice and ability to switch between styles in a single evening is impressive and thoughtful. As a teacher, Renée seeks out information and repertoire and hones their skills to serve their students with confidence and care. Oh, and they just make you feel good about yourself. Who wouldn’t want to be in a room with that kind of energy?

Carolyn says…

“Renee was exactly the right voice teacher for me. Her depth of knowledge on the subjects of voice and music is vast, but she always met me exactly where I was in her approach to explaining foundations. She didn't shy away from teaching music theory when relevant, and found fun metaphors to ensure her lessons were understood. Concepts I struggled with for years finally became understood and implemented thanks to Renee's patience and ability to adapt to my way of learning. I had a blast learning from her and couldn't recommend her more!!”

Renee is a very good vocal teacher. It has only been three lessons and I intended to only take five lessons with her but I am becoming more aware of my vocal control an vocal potential than I ever have before. Working with them has helped me figure out my vocal tone and approach to songwriting. As a contemporary artist I would recommend RFD to anyone who wishes to learn more about their own tone as a songwriter. In addition Renee breaks down their lessons and coaching by making sure that you understand what is expected of you and makes vocal exercises relatable and enjoyable. 10/10.
